This project was completed at a large farm property just outside Henley-on-Thames and involved the construction of a traditional brick garden wall designed to complement the existing red brick farmhouse and surrounding boundary walls. The brief was to create a structure that matched the character of the property while also allowing for a gate to be hung, helping to form a clearly defined and enclosed garden space.
A weathered facing red brick was used throughout, laid as a double-skinned wall with wall ties incorporated to provide additional internal strength and stability. The wall was constructed on a strong concrete foundation, which was carefully concealed beneath an existing patio to ensure the new structure tied seamlessly into the surrounding hard landscaping without disrupting the established layout.
The project was carefully planned and executed, resulting in a wall that feels both structurally robust and visually consistent with its surroundings. The client was extremely pleased with how the new wall integrates with the existing farm buildings and hardscaping, successfully enclosing the garden while maintaining the traditional aesthetic. The finished result delivers a practical, long-lasting solution that enhances both the function and appearance of the property.
